Stockhead Investor: Astral hits broad high-grade gold below 1.4Moz Theia resource
Astral Resources has delivered more broad gold hits from Theia Deeps, strengthening the growth case below the 1.4Moz Theia resource at its flagship Mandilla gold project in WA.
Three diamond holes have all intersected gold below the April 2026 resource shell.
AMRCD378 returned 52.75m at 4.67g/t Au from 445.25m, with multiple high-grade intervals including 0.34m at 477g/t from 487.3m, 0.35m at 47.2g/t from 445.25m and 0.47m at 20.3g/t from 471.85m.
Hole AMRCD376 returned 45m at 1.39g/t Au from 389m and 4.4m at 11.6g/t from 197.6m, including 0.3m at 155.5g/t while AMRCD262 delivered 25m at 1.68g/t Au from 546m and 30m at 0.98g/t from 470m including 0.38m at 28.1g/t.
Astral Resources (ASX:AAR) says these results highlight the potential to grow Theia as drilling steps deeper and along strike.
Managing director Marc Ducler said the results demonstrated broad zones of high-grade mineralisation beyond the current resource shell.
“These latest assay results from AMRCD262, AMRCD376 and AMRCD378 have all demonstrated broad zones of high-grade gold mineralisation beyond the base of the current April 2026 Mineral Resource shell,” Ducler said.
Ducler said the expanded Theia Deeps program, ongoing RC infill drilling and planned work across Feysville and Spargoville would underpin an active second half as Astral worked to grow and de-risk its broader gold portfolio.
Deeper push
Theia Deeps drilling is targeting the depth and extent of the mineralised system below the resource, chasing broad zones and higher-grade extensions.
With early holes delivering strong results, Astral has ramped up the diamond drilling program from six holes for 3000m to 21 holes for around 11,000m.
As Theia underpins Mandilla’s resource base, success below the current shell could support further resource growth.
Astral says drilling supports the upgrading of existing inferred resources near the base of the pit shell and points to a possible high-grade extension south of Theia.
The 52.75m at 4.67g/t hit from 445.25m in AMRCD378 sits outside the resource shell.
Next steps
RC and diamond rigs remain active at Mandilla.
The expanded diamond program will keep targeting higher-grade extensions below and along strike from the current Theia resource.
Stage 1 open-pit RC infill drilling is also progressing, with 193 holes for 19,445m completed out of a planned 431-hole, 44,400m program.
Astral is also preparing to restart extensional drilling at Kamperman within the Feysville gold project following a heritage survey scheduled for mid-August.
Further heritage surveys are planned for September ahead of exploration at Spargoville, beginning around the Wattle Dam complex.
