Stockhead Investor: Rise above the investing pack in Adelaide at Resources Rising Star’s third Gather Round conference

Now in its third year, the Resources Rising Stars Gather Round event at the Adelaide Convention Centre comes as a new mining boom crosses paths with geopolitical uncertainty via the war in Iran.

But the Gather Round show will be an introduction to a host of junior miners with re-rating catalysts and serious credentials to see through the volatility.

Read Corporate managing director and RRS organiser Nicholas Read acknowledged the complexity of today’s mining investment landscape, but noted the conference would put 28 quality companies presenting insights into their flagship projects and upcoming plans in front of investors.

“They might be trading 15-20% or more off their highs since the start of the year, but the fundamental stories haven’t changed and they’re still very well capitalised and well managed companies with great projects,” he noted.

“Despite all the shocks and upheavals of the last couples of weeks, these companies are still showing that business is continuing as usual.”

Coinciding with the AFL’s Gather Round four-day festival of footy, Read expects the one-day mining convention to draw a crowd at least equal to or slightly exceeding the ~400 investors that registered last year.

Astral Resources (ASX:AAR) is one of the most advanced gold developers on the ASX, riding last year’s gold boom to a $325 million market cap as it plans the development of the 95,000ozpa Mandilla gold project near Kalgoorlie.

A definitive feasibility study is in the works, while Astral is also looking into small-scale development scenarios for its secondary Feysville gold project to boost its warchest while the company constructs the flagship Mandilla.
