Stockhead Investor: Astral Resources delivers more high-grade gold at Mandilla project in WA

Astral Resources says in-fill drilling at the Theia deposit of its Mandilla project in WA has continued to deliver broad zones of high-grade gold mineralisation.

The project sits in an area host to world-class deposits such as Northern Star Resources (ASX:NST) Golden Mile Super Pit in Kalgoorlie, and Gold Field’s St Ives gold mine and Westgold Resources (ASX:WGX) Beta Hunt gold mine – both near Kambalda.

Mandilla includes the Theia, Iris, Eos and Hestia deposits. Theia itself hosts a mineralised footprint extending over a strike length of more than 1.6km.

This 99-hole RC program aimed to in-fill an 80-metre by 120-metre area of the Stage 1 open pit at Theia as contemplated in the Mandilla Pre-Feasibility Study (PFS) announced in June, at sufficient drill density to potentially underpin a measured resource classification.

On average, Astral Resources (ASX:AAR) has intersected 50-gram x metres of gold across the latest 16 holes.

Assay results have now been received for 62 holes for 7,028 metres, consistently demonstrate a strong correlation to the latest mineral resource estimate announced in April of 33.3Mt at 1.1g/t gold for 1.15Moz of contained gold.
